Fall Before

I want to find what I lost,
To search for it in the unknown.
The relics of time,
Soon to be lost to the past.

Life's beautiful moments,
Cherished but soon to be forgotten.
Like the breeze on a cool fall day,
Whispering your name,
As it floats on the wind.

Kneeling in the grass,
The sun hot on your back,
As the sour and sweet floats in the air.
The red and orange lines the horizon,
And you think to yourself,
Moments like these last forever.

And in three years,
The moments don't,
They float on the wind,
As your name once did.
And they leave a sense of peace in your mind.

As the days grow shorter,
And colder,
Search for the moments we once shared,
As they aren't forgotten relics of the past just yet.

  • What is left

[This is a reposted edited version of a previous poem of mine.]

when all we have is spent–

    what will we have left?

    people once before us–

  • down the street

    i walked down the street
the streets i once used to know
filled with regrets and heavy with burdens
    of what once happened here

    i walked down the street
    a block or so down

  • Dear god, am I real?

I believe in god even though I may know he doesn’t exist

I know the mountains were not formed by him

Instead it is the science in the world

The reason we are here in this moment
