Our fathers

Daughters

Sons

Have fought 

When there is no time to sit

When there’s no more patience 

For our world 

We stand 

And fight

And win

God I’m sad for the struggles of mankind 

Why must we fight to be treated equal

Why must we stand 

Why must we fight 

Why can’t we sit 

Why is this world cruel 

But we must fight for tomorrow 

So that our lives

Our children’s lives

We must fight for them

So they can live better than we did

I’m tired of this world trying to kill us

And so we must stand and fight

It’s a tiring soul sucking fight that might last our lifetimes till it changes

But it’s something we must

How can I love a world that doesn't love me

So I will fight to make it a world I love

I will stand

Today

Tomorrow

The day after

And I know I am not alone 

We will stand together to make a lovely world

No matter how many tears

No matter how many cuts and bruises 

How many broken bones 

We will stand

We shouldn’t have to fight

We shouldn’t 

But we do

So until my fights over I will stand

And so should you
