Forgotten Life

Often it is not understood,
just how alive the world is.

You look out the window, see the still trees, and you think,

"Sure, they're alive, but not like me. They don't move, think or see."

But maybe, if you bothered to ask,
you might find they are just as intelligent as we.
And if you may fall in the forest,
It is said Dryads are the best healers.

You may think the wind is just fast moving air,
but when it howls at your door, throwing branches and stones,

Can't you feel its anger?
How it is Fae, wanting to come in,
but only can it enter if invited.

The world is so alive, dear.
You just have to look.

  • winter coming

    winter's coming on fast-
    better chop enough wood.

pluck the last fruits of the harvest-
then say goodnight to the garden,
resting under a blanket of leaves and love.

  • Goodbye Whisper

    In the vet's office.
    My bunny, sedated.
They are coming soon with the second shot.

She had a good life. I hope she finds peace.
I'm going to miss her so much.
I love you, Whisper. I'm sorry.

  • in the "olden times"

Do you think people 100 years ago, in rural Vermont, looked up at the sky, at the milky way, the moon and all the stars? Do you think they marveled at them, and taught their children the constellations?
