Giving Back

Nature blessed us

Gave us a sun, water and air

Food, land and more

And so what did we give back?

We used the land given to us

We expanded to support and grow

Killing everything there before then

We gave back extinction

We used the oil given to us

We burned it to make energy

Emitting greenhouse gasses

We gave back a warming earth

We took raw materials given to us

We made goods to use

Nearly non-biodegradable

We gave back pollution in the waters and air

And so we are slowly killing off this planet

Ourselves still on it

With the gifts given to us by nature

To kill nature

But we can still do something, can we not?

We can conserve species

We can reverse climate change

We can stop producing and clean up pollutants

There is still time

To give back

  • Order and Morality

The man stood, shovelling bloody corpses into his cart

In a former battleground, as ordered by superiors

He looked to the sky, wondering if what he was doing was morally good,

  • Metamorphosis

The caterpillar walked to the edge of the leaf

Fall  was coming, the skies were turning grey

He was scared of  the change, Didn’t know if it would be brief
