Hello Summer

Hello Summer,

I see you on the boardwalk;

In every screw, and plank, and scratch,

Your every nook and my personality match.

Hello Summer,

When you're sad, your hot tears shed

On every little piece of life giving it more

And giving me something to live for.

But Summer,

I'm drowning in those tears—

They come to me late on a blazing night

And in the foggy morning before your light.

I see you Summer,

Withdrawing from the west

Taking all the happiness with you

But you will come again soon.

Hello Summer,

I'm caught in your cycle of fake promises

That you'd whisper in my ears with that searing wind,

Summer, I know this is how it's always been.

    The light flickers in my bedroom

    as I brush my hair;

    I remember that theory that it’s someone dead trying to speak to you,

    I’m sure it’s just a thing from movies.
