“Her”
Bodies shivered, the only thing keeping us warm was the fire.
Our hands outstretched towards the orange flame.
I stared at her, star-struck that she was even with me.
Nothing about her made sense.
Her eyes were as blue as the sky that sat above us.
Her laugh sounded like a song, that no birds chirp could compare to.
A red flannel blanket was wrapped around her and captured any warmth that tried to escape.
Her black pants extended down and met her fuzzy grey socks.
I looked back up once again.
The cold of the air around us brought out the red blush in her cheeks.
Her light brown hair fell to either side of her curtain bangs.
She raised her eyebrows as if to ask why I was so fixated on her face.
All I could do was dip my head and laugh.
As I looked back up I saw that smile.
The smile that could make the darkest nights look like day.
I couldn’t help but smile a little myself.
Because I had nothing left to do
except enjoy her everlasting company.
