Who knew happiness
was something
to hold
A lonely palm
Happiness takes
Wraps itself
Into the embrace
Of your open self
My happiness
Holds me back
Don’t let yours
Slip away

How do I celebrate?
How do I cheer
with masses of people?
How do I celebrate freedom,
knowing only half of me was set free today?
Poems are my eyes
Windows to a soul, Body, Mind
A new worldview
Look to the star-pricked sky,
high moon like
a pearl kicked onto
dark silk stretched from east to west.
Find yourself in
the silence that plays
