When I was young
I learned
Freestyle
Breastroke
And butterfly
Now here I am
Years later
And all I know
Is how to sink
How to drown
How to go deeper
And deeper
And not come
Up for air
I no longer know
How to float on my back
How to race across
The span of the pool

A reminder of my failures

And no one's there to catch me
What if I give them the world

Is like free-falling but not knowing where
She upsets me
Her face
The way she laughs
The way she talks
She's like the piece of hair
That is never in the right place
Why does she even wear that
Why does she look like that
