Hurricane

Always sitting at the desk, reading papers with no zest.
Home is not as fun, without you, me and the rest.
That's all I think about,
What we, our school, our friends, our teaches, all used to be.
Before the hurricane hit like that!  And the curve went up, and was not flat.
The curve is high, and can't be drowned.
Even though a hurricane came to town.
The winds blew, the ground shook.
So people were stuck in there houses, some were sick, and some were okay,
some had to stay in for fourteen days!
Things can't happen, it's like all is lost.
We can't stop it, without a cost.
The winds blew in right away.
Taking people, away.  Away from home, away from us.
They all flew away, not turning back to make a sound.  We thought all was lost.
All was drowned, until a we found, a bright voice, that made us smile.
So we stood there for a while.  Looking out, away from what happened when the hurricane blew into town.

This is a poem of hope,

     a poem of peace.

    It is short and sweet,

simple as a bird going tweet.

    I just want to say

    Covid please go away

that is all I have to say.
  • You're Job Is A Tree

    You glow in the day,
    A shadow at night.
As kids climb you they scream with delight.
The sky turns pink, gold, and red.
You sit there watching. With nothing to be said.
    You bloom in the spring,
    And loom in the winter.
