I might

I think

I might miss this.

I might miss your smile

And the way it feels when you laugh

And

How we could talk about anything.

I might miss

Those precious few minutes spent together

Every morning

Ignoring the teachers who

Ask us to go to

Our separate homerooms.

I might miss walking with you

Talking with you

Playing in band with you.

I've written a lot of these, it seems

And I can't seem to stop.

I might miss this.

I definitely wish you could stay here

But

I think you'll do really great and

I believe in you

(and I will try to stop writing these).

I might miss you

Just a little.

    starting together ending together

    weaving around each other's sound

    adapting tuning

    instinctively fitting into the tone

    the contrast

    played so perfectly

  • The boys in my class

The agony of the human race

    simple creatures

    snickering at my poetry

banging their fists against their heads

    stalling work

reading mushy parts of books they pretend not to enjoy

    saying stupid things
