I See You

I see the way you pretend not to care - I know you do.
I see it when you wear a facade of flowery sunshine, over your sadness blue.
I see the way you forgive. Say it's okay, but don't forget.
I know how hard you try each day; Open mind and clean slate.
But slates dirty quickly and minds soon close.
Still, the next day I see you do it again.
I see the hope flickering in your eyes when secrets confide in your ears.
I see how you take your time to pick apart the lies they leave you with.
I know you want out of the limbo, and I want it just as much as you.
I can feel the way you hide your hurt, because your hurt is mine too.
We share it together, me and you.
The weight you carry is a lot on your own,
but I see you; You're not alone.

You think you have me in a bind? I wouldn't say the same.
It comes so easy, moving so fast.
But you don't suspect, that I do have a past.
I'll play your little game. It's always the same.
