It's not fair.

It's no fair
How the world blesses some people with love and care and perfect family's
And to the rest of the population
Says something along the lines of
F#%* off
It's not fair
How I sit here
Warm, clothed, well fed, and loved
While other children are having their schools bombed
Houses wrecked
Parents killed
In a pointless war
So every time you say it's not fair for you
And how someone else gets so much more than you do
Think about that
And be grateful
For the life you were given
Yes it could have been better
But it also could have been a thousand times worse.

  • The Boxes In The Corner

    Looming over your shoulders

Each stack higher than its former

    Every thought and every scrap

Of an idea too scared to ponder

    Every moment that hurt

    Each minute that lingered longer

  • Inadequacy

How do I push the words out
    From behind my taffy tongue
    Thick with salty tears
    And full of grubby thumb

    I’m a child
    Pretending that I’m numb
    To escape the overwhelming feelings

  • Paper Frogs

    Why

When feet fall soft but quick

    Does the hallway extend

And the hot breath of whoever’s behind me feel hotter

Why do I stay pressed to the wall

    Like a stubborn gruby sticker
