the king's lonely daughter

in a peaceful pineapple land,

on a forgotten green island,

if you sail across the water,

you’ll see the king’s lonely daughter

a girl with great wisdom and strength

whose greatest challenge is the length

of the waves that stop her fierce strides

and their insurmountable tides

everyone forgot she was there

singing, hibiscus in her hair

she lives whimsically unplanned

replacing footprints in the sand

on her beauty no one gazes;

she enjoys her quiet places.

there is no one to watch her prance

through her tropical garden plants.

she was sent there as punishment

when she was too young to lament

to her, nothing makes sense

but she is happier in this innocence
