The Lament Of Athena's Servant

“Do you know what it's like to have everything taken from you?

Snatched from your fingers, like fish gobbled by the preying bird?

I was once as naive as you are now, placing trust in everyone and everything I laid my eyes on!

I was obedient!

I did my duty and I did it well.

Surely it would be enough. Surely if I were in trouble, I would be offered aid, right?

Wrong!

My naivety has brought my downfall. I am punished.

My life is finished.

The sinful act done against me has defiled the temple of Athena. And now I carry the burden of it.

My hands yearn to rip through every bloody living pig that oversteps his territory.

But I cannot.

This is my punishment.

My rage will stretch outwards, but my fists will never reach.

All I can get are the damned statues. I can do no harm, even in their death. I live my life in envy.

My untouchable crown is my poison, and I die slowly by it."
