Let me be Clear

(I don't mean any offense towards anyone, I swear)

 

 

Let me be clear. The Declaration of Independence did not state "All are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness", it stated, ""We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

This implies that this country was made by men, for men. 

And I am so angry. Everyone says: Oh, they meant everyone (who was white).

But they didn't. They only meant men.

And white ones, at that. And cis ones at that. And straight ones at that. And Christian ones at that.

You don't fix the box? Too bad. No rights for you.

America promised nothing to us. Which is why what was given was so easily taken.

America, rewrite the old promise. We need a new Declaration.

Equality for all.

    A dryad floats above her, in the air.

    They unify, becoming one.


    In Summer, the Willow cries with joy, enjoying the sun.

  • Only Men Are Created Equal?

    The declaration declares "All men are created equal."

    Only men. Not nonbinaries, women, genderfluids, or anyone else. Only men.

    Now, people say they meant everyone, but that's a lie.
