Love and Hatred

Love is hard, hatred is easy.

How am I supposed to love the girl who pushed me in the hallway because I like reading about dragons? It’s much easier to hate her.

How am I supposed to love the boy who made my life a living hell for two whole years? It’s much easier to hate him.

How am I supposed to love the friend who tossed me aside as soon as she could? It’s much easier to hate her.

How am I supposed to love the boy who abused my friend with words instead of fists? It’s much easier to hate him.

But.

You don’t have to love the specific people.

Just try not to hate them.

And try to spread as much love into the world as you can before your brief existence comes to an end.

Just try to love. That’s all I ask.

  • My Friend, the Moth

Gentle as water sliding down your face,

    A voice like a bell.

A smile as delicate as a rose,

But as strong as an eagle.

Hands and arms with ink scribbled over them like tattoos.

    Hair like a sunset.

  • Freedom

Freedom is a concept I think about often.

    A concept I don't really understand.

    Yes, we have it.

But it often feels like we don't.

How am I supposed to see how free I truly am, when I just feel trapped?
