The Maple and The Sapling

The day is soft and silent.

Except for the quiet chirp of the crickets,

 and the lonely breeze.

The pond has no animals to swim in its glory.

Trees whisper words of wisdom as the sky grows grey.

Cars drive past on the road,

Fast and full of fury.

Crows start to sing their songs as the day goes on.

One single Jay sings alone,

Only to be heard by the sky.

“This is the world, little one,”

Says a Maple to a sapling, “One day you will grow as big as me,”

“But until then, you can listen to the wonderful world we live in.”

“But what if there’s a storm?”

Asks the little sapling, “What if you or I shall fall?”

“We may fall,” Answers the maple, “But that is life, little one.”

“Everything has a beginning and an end. That is the circle of life. We all have a role to play.”

  • Anger

    Anger.

Anger is a thing I am not proud of.

Yet it happens, where I cannot control what I say or do.

  • Awakening

    I am tenacious,

    I prevail.

Though the dark void surrounds me, I ignite a fire inside and shine.

Yet - shadows grip me in their hands.

Flame, rage, and anger consumed, ashes I become.
