I turned heat creeping up onto my face “for what?” I said gruffly
Kael grinned “yeah why should we?”
She turned to Elias “you didn’t tell them?”
He shrugged “you never said when”
She let out a muffled scream through clenched teeth, completely frustrated with Elias’s dumb reply
“I’m telling Brandon” said Juniper angrily
Nyx grinned “ooh Eli she’s gonna tell big brother” she teased smacking his shoulder playfully
Elias clenched his teeth “then I’ll tell Mateo that you like him”
“Fine.” She grumbled “then I’ll just tell them”
She turned to us now, “we’re the resistance!”
“The… what?” I say, completely lost.
Kael groaned loudly “this again”
The boy that was talking turned over “Nyla! I said snag that girl! Not my brother” then continued talking
Kael looked infuriated and I turned “you’ve got a brother?”
Kael nodded and the boy looked over “Lil K, have you seriously not talked about me? At all?”
Kael huffed and watched as mine and Juniper’s faces, still clearly baffled.
“Is it cuz’ I'm a purple?”
Juniper's whole face lit up “purple?”
He nodded “purple” he repeated deadpan and completely unfazed.
“But I thought I was the only one!”
“Oh there’s tons” he said nodding, “just none show their stones, unless it’s with a good sort of people”
“Wait, wait, wait.” I say “purple Lums are cool and all. But what’s the Resistance?”
Nyla grinned “well, I’m ignoring the stupid nickname by the way! We are just against the Courter that’s all! We are trying to get the underdogs and take them here!”
Kael groaned “for the last time! Only the Worm is an ‘underdog’ . Me and Ryder are completely normal!” He said pointing at Juniper
“They’re probably better friends than you” she huffed
“Then stay” Kael shot back
“Fine!”
“Fine. Doesn’t bother me!” Kael said
I rolled my eyes “Kael I’m staying, choose if you wanna leave or not yourself”
He blinked “fine! I’m staying. But not for Worm or Fen!”
The girl ‘fen’ was talking to, turned back to him “Aww Fen is a cute nickname! Can I call you it?”
Fen went bright red “fine.”
She grinned, Nyla smiled too “okay! Let’s introduce ourselves!”
Elias walked forward with Nyx “Elias” he said then it went to Nyx “this is Nyx” he said “but you all knew that”
Fen rolled his eyes “I’m Fenwick”
The girl beside him giggled “Fenny is cute too, Oh! I’m Mara!”
Nyla grinned “and that just leaves me then! I’m Nyla”
Mara turned with an evil grin “you’re not usually this talkative Ny, what’s the occasion?”
Nyla's face burned crimson “nothing”
I scoffed, “Come on.” I said “we’ve got classes to attend”
Kael grinned “buh-bye crazies!”
“We’ll be back after class, Kael don’t get cocky”
He sighed, Juniper walked over and side-eyed him.
“So Ryder, what were we gonna do about your Lu—”
“Shh!” Kael snapped “we are in a room. Filled with crazy people. And you’re trying to mention his Lume— never mind. Come on. Before you get another brilliant idea to get him killed. Or worse, me as well.”
She nodded “okay”
We headed out of the stage room.
“‘Bout time” Kael grumbled but looked at Juniper then at me. “You guys got there pretty quickly.” He said, flustered but grateful.
I opened my mouth to speak but Juniper did in my place “we were worried it was a professor. Or someone more evil” she said, crossing her arms.
Kael grinned “well, thanks”
I gave a long exhale “finally they’re done bickering” I thought
(Hey! Sorry it’s been taking me so long to write! I’ve been distracted lately with other story ideas! I don’t wanna fully stop Mixed, but I haven’t got ideas, I’ll keep thinking though! And I’ll keep posting Mixed chapters whenever I can!)
