Have you ever considered the money we spend on mascara?
The thoughts we spend on our outside
I don’t want them to see that pimple there
Or I hate my color hair
Although it’s fun to wear sparkly lipgloss and curl my hair
I wish I didn’t care
I wish I had lashes that flutter and hair that flips
I wish I had pink shiny lips
Worrying about what I look like on the outside
What others see
Sometimes it feel like I’m not pretty enough
Without all that shiny stuff
But
that’s only when I have forgotten to consider
The ripples in the water
Or the wrinkles in a leaf
The long limbs of a willow tree
Beauty isn’t perfect and that’s ok
Because that’s what makes it beautiful
That’s what makes you.

I like the way you talk about leaf wrinkles and ripples. It’s so pretty.
Tysm!
