Green eyes glowing
I stand proud
My silhouette bold
From atop my rail
I watch the moon rise and set
On a magenta night
Down in the hills
There’s an orange horizon
That turns into pink throughout the night
it stretches my face apart
not unlike the plates
we learn about in science class.
pulling at my jaw,
cheeks,
lips,
until finally
my whole demeanor
"We ignite not in the light, but in lack thereof,
For it is in loss that we truly learn to love."*
When we can feel,
All that is no longer there,
the doors
are left open
for him
to walk through
and brightly lit
with all
he will ever need
when beside him
there is a girl
stumbling through
a dark hall
unable to find her way
