as prepared

as everybody else

I look at you

When I was younger I never understood the dance. 

There’s this feeling I get--it could be in school or in dance or in just ordinary life--when I know something bad is going to happen.

I am Leona Smith,  the only daughter of parents with four children. With my heart open to everyone to love and share. My arms outstretched, reaching out to everyone and those in need.

From the second the intro song started,
A flood of memories came back.
I remembered each and every version of Peter Pan I'd ever seen.
As the animated characters that I've kept in my heart for so long fly across Never Land,

Every day, billions of people rise from their beds. Some go to work. Some go to school. But not everyone. Some never rise.

In middle school I ran
on the cross country team
and for a while it was
the best thing in the world.
I crossed the finish line
always with a smile
no matter where I placed.
But as my team's reputation

Dark grey reflected on my glasses as I scrolled past messages. I had joined the server two days beforehand, though I had already grown tired of the monotonous parade of text.

We know it’s a lie. But it’s an acceptable lie because it’s so far over the top that it’s clearly not meant to be taken literally. Because it’s an exaggeration. 

People usually lie when they are pressed for time.

I am in the mountains every week. I am a ski racer, so I travel to a lot of different mountains in Vermont. I race for Burke Mountain. My favorite mountain to ski at is Mad River Glen.

The play takes place in the dungeon of a castle during the Medieval time period. Two prison mates Burkit and Durwin are the main characters.
