When the world is dark, and the stars are out
My mind comes alive.
I drown alone in my thoughts with a smile on my face,
And let myself get lost,
Because I know I’ll be found.
I don’t yet know when, or how, or by whom,
But someday these thoughts will be put into words and understood.
When I am understood, I will know, and my soul will be set free
But till then I will wait, for the day my future comes
The universe will know I’m ready.
I locked eyes with him, the glowing man on the stage.
He glimmered, his red hair shining under the spotlight.
That was all it took for my heart to be stolen away.
I hear the rain on the roof of my car, loud and serene.
I see the wet pavement stretch out for miles in front of me.
I don’t look back.
when it comes true
when my dream is found,
my goals reached,
will I be fulfilled?
will the future be everything I’d hoped,
or a letdown
a saddening realization of truth
