Ocean eyes are boring

People describe blueish green eyes as the ocean,

or the sky,

or there favorite color when they don't know what to call the shade they see...

that's boring.

When I see your eyes they remind me of my favorite lollipops,

the ones that change your tongue colors because they are so bright.

Your eyes remind me of the grass in the summer time,

when I run barefoot feeling free.

Your eyes remind me of those color changing pens,

the ones we all tried to push the buttons down at the same time,

because your eyes are always changing,

fighting for what color wants to be dominant at that moment.

Your eyes remind me of the stars,

vibrant,

alive,

waiting to be wished upon.

Your eyes remind me of fireflies,

bringing the light into my darkest moments,

coming in short sparks,

but I will always chase them,

trying to catch your stare.

Your eyes remind me of the messy paint palette I use,

layers upon layers of colors,

that were left from creating something new,

colors that I will never clean off because they are reminders that even worn and overused things can be beautiful.

And finally yes,

your eyes remind me of the ocean,

and the sky,

but that will never do your eyes justice,

and yes,

I would say they were my favorite color but I can't limit that to one,

my favorite color is every shade that passes through your eyes.
