perseverance.

though your feet may tire
and your back may ache
though your vision may falter
and your muscles may quake
you must keep going
till the sun is in view 
you must keep going
the dawn you must pursue
for even the darkest of nights
can not burn out the light
of one with the will of steel
even if the water is deep
and you cant see the bottom 
if the wind is frigid 
and your sweater is made
from chicken wire
the light of success must burn through the doubt
that you could be anything but great
for though you may face
extreme mental pain 
in the course of your life you have power to gain 
from simply choosing the way 
that puts smiles on faces
fills you up with pride
looking around 
you should feel good things inside
for the way that is right
is not always easy 
as many have proven before
but i challenge all those who listen 
to open their minds 
their hearts 
and their doors
to the thought that maybe
there is a different way 
then violence and hatred towards others 
maybe our actions we can change
to mend the broken thing we call society 
maybe all those peoples dreams for their children 
and their families 
could become a reality.
