Pink Shoes

Pink shoes.
They seem so simple,
they seem so small,
they seem so normal.
You can see these things,
these dainty,
wonderful things,
in many places.
A beaming young child,
jumping,
dancing,
laughing at the park.
Perhaps on a ballerina's feet,
pointed,
beveled,
self-sewn,
worn around the edges,
proving to be something important,
something priceless.
These shoes,
pastel pink heels,
worn on a runway,
shining,
presenting themselves to the audience,
thankful for the applause. 
Yes, 
pink shoes may seem simple.
They may just be shoes to you.
But to many others,
they are much,
much more.
