Reflections

Look in the mirror,

What do you see?

Someone,

Who will always be ugly?

Someone,

Who will never be pretty enough?

What do you really look like?

Look in the mirror,

See how you look.

Trust the mirror, fix your face.

What if the mirror is lying to you?

Who says you can trust the mirror?

The mirror’s the only thing

That you can use to see yourself.

Mirrors and lakes,

Glass and reflections.

No, the mirror is not lying to you.

It’s you who is lying to yourself.

Was there ever a time

When we didn’t care about our appearance?

Who says you look ugly,

Other than yourself?

Mirrors and lakes,

Glass and reflections.

Makeup and bottles,

Creams and extracts.

What are you really hiding,

Beneath the layers of someone you’ll never be?

Who says you look ugly,

Other than yourself?

Mirrors and lakes,

Glass and reflections.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder,

And the beholder

Is not you.
