The Shooting Star

Head towards the sky

Eyes open

Hearts open

Looking for a shooting star

A spark of equality

A spark of freedom

Eyes search the sky

Spend hours searching

Looking

Hoping

Wishing to wish

On a shooting star

A rare thing

Equality

Hearts open

Forever

The sky is large

Spanning above

All the people

Equality

Doesn't seem to

Shoot across it

The sky is dark

Miniscule stars in the distance

But shooting stars

That were once rare

Are even more

Hands clasp

As the eyes continue

To wander the sky

A dandelion is blown

Into the night sky

Each and every persons

Freedom

Attached to each seed

Pennies get tossed

Sink to the bottom

Of the fountain

That is no longer clear

But still

Equality

Is not in sight

The wishes and hopes

Get diminished

Barely glanced at

Each chance of a shooting star

Gets pushed away

So equality

Doesn't shoot across the sky

Float in the wind

Rise from the water

Eyes open

Heart open

Hands clasped

Everyone

Searching

For

The

Shooting

Star

Of

Equality

  • I Want To Cry

    I want to cry

I want to let it out

    Each tear

    A reminder of my failures

    Each tear

    Filled with my fears

    Each tear

    A bottle of sadness

    Maybe anger

    I want to cry

  • Scared to Fall in Love

What happens if I fall in love

And no one's there to catch me

What if I give them the world

And they ask for the universe

What do I do if falling in love

Is like free-falling but not knowing where
