Slumber

In the dead of night, I begin to slumber

In my bed, I feel like a log of lumber

Whispers of wind fills the air

But im dreaming so I don't care

I feel all of my worries leave my body

As my mind starts to guide me

The weight of the world lifts away

At this time everything is ok

In the clouds, I feel so light

For in this dream, everything is alright

As the shadows come out and play

In this dream, I would like to stay

As I begin to wake, Im hit with confusion

For this dream was only an illusion

In the morning I wake and sigh

Wondering how much time has passed by

Posted in response to the challenge Dreaming.

Orange and red cover the ground

Yet the summer is not to be found
