it was January
you took me to school
we blasted Hozier and I begged you
to stop at the gas station
we bought two cups of coffee
(mine was mostly milk)
and an apple turnover to share
we laughed as we almost fell
on the ice
slipping and sliding our way to the car
it broke down soon after that
in a bland old parking lot
where the heat factory is
i ran through the falling snow
twirling like the flakes above
the world all but disappeared
i swear
in that moment
dancing in the snow
i swear we were infinite.
