Look at the snow outside!
They said it'd only be a 'dusting', but they lied.
Wow! The trees are covered in flakes of frost,
and I do say, my words are lost.
As I marvel at the ice that covers the earth,
I'm reminded of Christmas spirit,
of healing and hearth.
Oh - the sound of the bells and the songs and the shouts!
Some people may ask, "What's all this about?"
Well, it's December, you see. Enjoy the spiriting glee!
Golly, it sure looks like Christmas to me.
I simply can't wait for the toys!
For the Joy!
For the laughter and smiles as the little girls and boys open their presents on Christmas day,
after the long night
of Santa pulling his sleigh.
That sleigh! Lo!
The reindeer heave and ho
and go
and fly
across the sky
Santa calls down to the world below, "Merry Christmas to all! And to all a good night!"
Those stories of Saint Nick
fill me with delight.
And the anxious feeling and suspense you get,
when, on Christmas Eve, the excitement and fret
of the night of snow and, "Ho ho ho!"
and the presents that come with the morn.
And I just can't wait!
I hope Santa's not late!
I see the snow, and I smile.
Golly, it sure looks like Christmas to me.
