Things I Love

I love how the air smells on the first day of spring

And how there are sprouts in the ground even before the snow melts

I love the crunch sound a pinecone makes when someone steps on it

And how acorn tops look like little fairy hats

I love how the flower garden at my house looks enchanted on a warm summer day

And going to the berry farm down my road, and eating the most delicious blueberries

I love how my houses green window sills look magical when the sun shines on them

And laying on the trampoline trying to get “tan” in the summer

I love our secret swimming spots my family has found outside town

And how it takes me ten minutes to get in the water, even though I know that everyone has already jumped in

I love driving with the windows down, blasting music, and singing at the top of my lungs

And singing Hamilton on road trips with my family

I love when my mom tells a joke that no one gets, because she doesn't get the joke herself

And how my dog is so happy when we get home

I love lounging on my porch during the summer

And making desserts anytime we want just because we feel like it

I love when it's finally warm enough to wear shorts

And when all the butterflies come back from the south

I love finding a new song and playing it on repeat

I love when you find a good book and read it in two days 

And how a hot shower feels after a stressful day 

And I love that even though that one day is stressful, there are more that can make up for it
