Through the Maze

A wild dream wakes you,

tears you out of

the spiral you are swimming in,

sending you, reeling, into a new reality.

Unknowingly, you are prepared,

consequently, you are unconfident,

reasoning out an adventure

that hasn’t been written yet.

Prying eyes search for a vision,

reaching out of the rut

you’ve been living in.

Your knees are soft, crumbling dry mud,

where you are standing

feels like somewhere you once stood.

Confused, you were waiting

for a hand to take yours,

not wanting to move,

now you feel like you should.

Through this maze you wander,

wondering which way is the way out,

you were on a straight stretch, finally thought you were making it,

but around this corner, it’s just another dead end.

Maybe it’s time to climb over the walls,

pick up the pieces

and stop fearing the fall.

A wild dream wakes you,

gray skies,

but a bird’s eye view.

You were ready to give up,

but now you will get up, head up, try something new.

  • Static

    These days I sip

on the light from the window.

Sometimes the walls are dark, and they swallow

it up, and there's none left to reach me

in my seat by the door.

[Alone in] Laughter, lamenting the lost light,

you don’t want to be the forgotten, the lost cause, the missed flight.

Reason runs thin when your sadness is bountiful,
