The Truth is Being Altered

A couple was shot in the city which I call home. Portland, Oregon. I learned the news right after I had gotten home from school. Had this really happened? Could it be true? I thought it was not true, especially because it was in my city, a city of happiness and safety for all, and innocent people had gotten shot? What I learned later angered me even more. The government, which should have mourned this terrible event and tried to prevent a person who did nothing wrong from getting shot by the force of corruption that is ICE and the border patrol said that the people who had gotten shot, who were in their car at the time, were trying to run the officers over. The people who were running away are not vicious monsters with no regard for human life whatsoever, the people who shot them are. The government was changing what really happened to protect the shooters. To make it seem the innocents were the monsters. This is a violation of free speech. This is not the truth. This is corruption. I would have been more surprised, but a day earlier, a woman had been killed in Minnesota, near the same place George Floyd was killed and the same lie was given for that. "The woman was trying to run over the officers." She had just dropped off her son. There were multiple angles released of the shooting and all of them give evidence that the shots were not fired in self defense, they were fired because that was the orders that were given, and these were illegal orders. The government protected the people who shot the woman, just like what happened in my city. We need to protest, fight for our ability to speak up to injustices like this, because the truth is being altered.
