two hearts.

two hearts
beating songs of life
writing their stories
on the page of time
and dancing through the years
never giving into to fears
and always holding on hope
that some day
they would meet
in a world, better than this one.

two hearts
drumming out a rhythm of love
pulsing with passion
and singing of above
where maybe the sky
if your looking up
will be full of stars
not a gray cloud to be found
perfection
in and around these two beings.

two hearts dreaming
side by side
steady breathing
hands still held
tight as they can be.

one heart lonely
years later
alone.
it silently lays there
ignoring it's phone.
not wanting to know
why the other half of it's soul
wasn't there anymore.

    Looming over your shoulders

Each stack higher than its former

    Every thought and every scrap

Of an idea too scared to ponder

    Every moment that hurt

    Each minute that lingered longer

  • Inadequacy

How do I push the words out
    From behind my taffy tongue
    Thick with salty tears
    And full of grubby thumb

    I’m a child
    Pretending that I’m numb
    To escape the overwhelming feelings

    Why

When feet fall soft but quick

    Does the hallway extend

And the hot breath of whoever’s behind me feel hotter

Why do I stay pressed to the wall

    Like a stubborn gruby sticker
