The value of a Christmas gift to people who aren't family

I want to get you a gift

for Christmas

because

I want you to know that you're special to me.

And it really is that simple -

but I don't know what to get you

The age-old dilemma

something cute?

maybe...

something silly?

maybe...

something meaningful?

maybe...

All I have are maybes and goals with no perfect gift in sight

that will fulfill my impossible requirements.

And so I ask you 

what do you want?

And of course you don't know

I don't know either!

There has to be some sort of wanting... bias... right?

The impossibility of a perfect gift for someone who means so much is nearly overwhelming.
