Walking in a line

I

walk

in a

line

between the guys

the preppies

the in-betweens

when brought into anything

I will

high five smile

playful banter

whatever

I'm outgoing

I'll go out

to make you like me

but not over-the-top

if you don't

I don't

I'm walking in a line

not quite someone

the guys can hang with

-but they joke tease talk to me-

the preppies can gossip to

-because I don't like them and they're mean-

the in-betweens can confide in

                                                          -unless they're my friends-

kind of all over the place

all up in down

this line is not linearughlinear

it's wiggly

squiggly

ups and downs and round and round and round.

    Festival

    Long day

past where morning sun shines and into the dark huskiness of night

    fluorescent lights beating down

    then flickering off

    a fanfare

    a reflection

    a redemption

    Instincts

    Some things are just instinct

like when I just ran to you

as soon as I saw you

    and hugged you for -

    oh yeah -

    the first time

    very very platonic of course

    you're my big brother.

    Flying solo

Your solo is like sun shining through the clouds in my heart

    it's like a platonic ballad

    it's like you are playing

    through first loves

    and forbidden loves

    and grass in the summer

    and crunchy chips
