What the heck is wrong with us?

There is so much wrong. 18 year olds are going out, buying guns, and shooting up elementary schools. Elementary schools. That means 5,6,7,8,9,10 year olds  dying. For no reason at all. Children who could've had a wonderful life, filled with joy and laughter. So many things to enjoy. Instead, they are dead. No chance at life, to experience the joys and sorrows, the things that other  children will get to do. And what scares me the most is that the Supreme Court is not doing anything about this. That means that this could continue to happen. And that is scary. But what scares me the most is that if our government cant or won't  do anything about this, then what about the other issues, like climate change? The children, including me, in this world are the ones who have  to have a future in a warming climate, the girls have to fear for their rights, and now the violence is getting worse. So many shootings. So much death, so much hate. If the Supreme Court has outlawed abortion, what else will they do? Will they do nothing to prevent future mass shootings? Will they do nothing to prevent further climate change? Will they take away more rights? I fear for my and other childrens future in this world. But if that has to be the case, then a believe that we, as the youth in this country, should stand up and protest these injustices, and work to make our country, and our world, a better place.

  • November

    A day as grey as

    the clouds above it

And the hills, which have changed from green to orange to purple to a deepest blue in the fading light

with a few bursts of yellow from the beech trees, holding on in their marcescence

  • pondering

If life is full of the little things

like skating on smooth black ice and laughing with a friend

then I have nothing to look forward to

because there is good in every day.

  • Dear Mother

    Dear Mother,

I have missed you these past few months.

    Where did you go?

I see you standing there, torch held high, yet you do not answer my calls.
