Who am I?
Am I Californian or Indian?
I'm from California, but I also come from Indian descent.
When I choose one over the other, it feels I'm downplaying how important the other is to me.
I'm from a small city in California, but I yearn to adventure to Paris, Africa, and so much more.
I love my home, but I love to explore.
Who am I like, my mother, my father, my sister, my friends?
I'm from my mother; hard-working and perseverant.
I'm from my father; eager and impulsive.
I'm from my older sister; curious and lively.
I'm from my friends; kind and gentle.
Am I all of them, mixed together?
Or am I me, just plain, old, simple me?
Or is the person, I am, the person I was meant to be,
Is she, me?
Is she my family, my friends?
Yes, she's me.
I'm from my family and my friends.
I'm from the people all around me, and that's who I am.

The search for identity is a never-ending quest! But it sounds like you already have a grasp on who you are, who helped shape you, where you come from, and where you want to go -- that's so much more than many of us can say, truly. I also found this piece so wholesome, reading the positive attributes you assign to your friends, family, and yourself. Keep questing!
