Who will speak at the earth’s funeral?

Even if was never

About legacy

Your memory

Cannot mean nothing

Your family

Should remember you

And admittedly

No matter what we say

This

Is true.

So who

Will speak

When we murder

The earth when we murder

Ourselves when we murder

Everything anyone

That has ever been ever will

Be

Gone.

There is no gravestone

When a corner of the universe dies

There is no memory

Legacy

Family

Admittedly it’s a little

Silly

A little

Thing to wish

A little

Thought that crossed my mind.

When the earth dies

Not in its sleep

Hardly fighting honorably,

We will have weakened it too far

For that it will die

After long suffering

And no one will speak

At her funeral.

  • The Third Grader

Raincoat like the petals of a sunflower hangs to her knees

    Glittery rainbow headband

That only keeps half her hair back

    Shiny pink nails

    Strawberry boots

Shy smile that makes you feel lucky you got to see it

  • They knew what could be

The little girl sat in her swing

blond curls the way they are before

you grow up the everywhere I don't care

it looks like my hair was woven from sunlight

a throne for a flower crown.
