Winter Daydream

Winter has two sides

The first side covers everything
and paints a beautiful scene 
when you can't see anything but snow 
and you don't need to see anything but snow
the first side makes you belive
you really are living in a wonderland
stops you from seeing the bad
and for just a moment 
breathe
and stand in awe

The second turns everything grey
and dull
shows the harsh reality
without the leaves to gaze at
or the flowers to smell
the second makes you sad and tired
as if there was no life left
nothing to distract you
or inspire you
so you stand in disappointment
wishing the snow would come back 
and you could live that daydream again
