GALLOP!

The brisk summer breeze skimmed past my ear,

The bitter droplets of frost kissed my cheeks,

The hoof beats pounded beneath me, galloping against the sandy brown footing,

And the distant sun glared at me with it’s glistening golden rays.

A smile like no other,

That demonstrated pure joy lit up my face,

As he delicately yet flawlessly sprung into the air,

Tucked his feet underneath him,

And soared over each obstacle with pleasure and ease.

As we galloped together across the endless pasture,

All I could think about was delight and freedom,

All I could feel was the thrill, happiness, and pride welling up inside of me,

And yet all I could imagine was a little 12 year old girl,

Chasing her dreams of being an Olympic equestrian,

And her stunning grey horse Monkey.
