Your Lies, Your Tricks, Your Game

You lied to me like it wouldn't flood

Everything that we had built

Those nights you held me close

Like nothing could ever bring us down.

But the water is filling my lungs,

Even as you were running from me,

I'm sorry that it had to end like this,

But I was drowning in all your games

That pulled me into you like the riptide,

And now you've tricked me once again;

I love you and you're not by my side,

Because our flooded walls cannot mend.

    The light flickers in my bedroom

    as I brush my hair;

    I remember that theory that it’s someone dead trying to speak to you,

    I’m sure it’s just a thing from movies.
