The Hurricane That Reached Their Home

There was this family that just got back from their summer vacation and it was a week before the kids had to go back to school. There is a total of four kids, the youngest being four and the oldest being 14. When they got back they had just missed the hurricane watch. But what they didn’t know was that watch was turning into a warring and they need to leave but they couldn’t because as soon as they were backing up a tree landed in front of their path. The only place they could go is to the basement and that’s where they went.

“ Mommy are we gonna die.”

“ No of course not sweetie were going to be safe okay.”

“ Okay mommy.”

“ Mom what would happen if we can’t get out of here.”

“ Well there is a door over there if we had to use it to get out.”

Three hours later

“ Mommy i’m hungry.”

“ I know baby I know.”

“ It’s been three hours when will it be over.”

“ I don’t know. I don’t know.”

Then one of the twins tried to open the door at the top of the stairs.

“ ashley what are you doing?”

“ Trying to open the door megan help me please.”

“ okay i’m coming.”

They tried and tried but it just wouldn’t budge.

“ it won’t open.”

“ let’s try the other door.”

So they tried the other door and after a while it opened up.

“ Mommy look we did it we got the door open let’s go.”

“ wait girls we don’t know if it’s over of not.”

“ Mom look it’s over.”

“ I guess you’re right it is over.”

“ come lets go.”

After about four hours the family was able to leave the basement.

“ Mom look at this.”

“ what is it lucy?”

“ the school it’s destroyed.”

“ wow.”

“ No school! No school!.”

“ Yeah I just you guys are right.”

“ By the look of this it would take about three- four years to rebuild it but what about the high school looks like it was untouched.”

“ You still have to go to school sis.”

“ Yes I guess to two are right.”

So after the four years of rebuilding the school the twins were able to go back to school and there was never a hurricane like that again.

The end

I love the amount of dialogue in this piece! I think it takes it to a whole new level.
