We hung out under a tree

We hung out under a tree

The day they all left

Lost and alone

In our own heads

Someone forgot their hoodie and came back

And I ran to them

Yelling their name

Tacklehugging them

Needing them back.

Needing them all back.

We hung out under a tree

Our tiny mini friend group

Bonded tighter over the year

But not as fun

More boring, I guess.

There wasn't as much going on.

We hung out under a tree

And wished our sorrows away.

  • Reflections

    Everybody hates mirrors.

    Anything reflective.

Anything that shows you who you are -

we will never be enough to appease ourselves.

I miss when I could go into a public restroom

    and wash my hands

  • What I want

    I wasn’t

    Sure.

    Not one hundred percent.

    I knew I wanted it

But I wasn’t prepared last time

    We weren’t ready last time

I’m surprised I was ready this time.

    But I was -

    We were.
