My earliest, clearest memory was going to kindergarten for the first time. I remember that both my parents walked me to school. I was really nervous about meeting the other kids and teachers. I thought that kindergarten was going to be all work, and I thought that the fun stuff we did in preschool was going to be over. When I walked in the building, I clearly remember that me and my classmates were lined up next to the fourth graders. They seemed giant, mature and so superior. Now I look at the fourth graders, and think: young, immature, and shy. I also clearly remember that I was on a grey carpet. I don’t know why that is, but that is the thing I most remember. I also remember I didn’t know anybody, but the teachers were really nice to me. In the end, I remember going home and being super happy. It was more fun than I thought, the people were nicer than I thought, and I had a better time than I thought.
