It was a cold rainy day in November, the car was splashing through big puddles. My dad was talking about how I should play, and to try your best. I was on my way to a soccer game at Roosevelt Park, exited to play and hopefully win. I put on my soccer gear and got on the field. I was playing defense, which means I was trying to block the offenders from getting past me, and scoring. There was only about 5 minutes left when an offender ran right into me. I noticed that I had the ball and I was in front of everyone. Time seemed to slow. I ran as fast as I could, my muddy cleats thumping in the puddles, muddy water splashing all over me. I just focused on the goal. Everyone on the other team was running frantically after me trying to get the ball, but I knew they couldn't. I heard my dad yell. “Shoot!” I took my best shot. It was like time slowed. My heart stopped. The ball skipped over the goalies hand and went in, I could hear the swoosh of the net.
