Chapter One

Once upon a time, there was a bright-eyed girl named Sofia, she was a princess who was destined to be the next ruler of The Moon Kingdom. She was to be crowned on her 21st birthday, and to be married to a suitable prince. However The Moon Kingdom had an enemy, it was The Sun Kingdom. The Sun Kingdom was known for doing many great deeds but there was one thing that they did that they didn’t tell their people. The Sun Kingdom tried to take over The Moon Kingdom! They failed to do so, but ever since The Moon Kingdom and The Sun Kingdom have been in conflict.

Years passed, and the princess named Sofia became the most beautiful girl in the kingdom. She was always the talk of the town, "Sofia is so pretty!" Someone said, "She is the beautifulest person in town!" Another said. Sofia was flattered but annoyed, cause of this every prince wanted to have her hand, however she was not fond of the idea of marrying someone you just met. Because of this, she would sneak out often to escape the boring classes of “How to be a princess” And “The rules of being a ruler.” She thought she was trapped. She had no way to get out of marrying anyone, she was 20 now and knew that she would have to get married soon, whether she liked it or not.

Out of everyone in the kingdom she only had one friend, a girl named Mia. She only was true friends with her because Mia understood more than anyone about how she felt about all of these rules of being a princess. “I don’t want to marry someone I JUST met!” Sofia said. “They are already talking about suitable princes for the marriage!” Mia didn’t know what to say to comfort her, then she had an idea. “How about we go on a stroll, to get your mind off things.” Sofia agreed. They put on their clokes and began to head outside. It was nighttime so everything was kinda dark around them, then Mia noticed a dark shadow near the big gates. “What was that!?” Mia said nervously. “Probably just a cat or something.” Said Sofia. “I didn’t seem like a cat!” They both looked around to find nothing. “See, I told you. It was probably just a cat.” They continued their walk. Then Mia saw the shadow again. “I really don’t think it was a cat Sofia! I keep seeing shadows!” Sofia looked around to find…..Nothing. Again. “I didn’t see anything, but we should head back anyway. There are reasons that there are rules for not going out at this time…”
