For me happiness is seen in the smiles from my sister’s after they told me about their day. Happiness is seeing my mother come home from work and my father welcoming her with a warm smile and a hug.

Every winter, I bury myself beneath the water
Deep in the mud to stay warm 
Spring will come, and I can leap around
Lily pad to lily pad 
Stretching my legs in the fresh water
But,
Where did it all go?

Taking my first steps out into the city
A slight brisk breeze flows through the crowd of people
Everyone is chatting
Distant dogs barking 
The smell of smoke, gas lingers the air
It's musty, with trash decorating the sidewalks
