from the olden days

Sir Jack, he was a nobleman

who worked in all the trades.

The Queens, they all adored him

for he never missed croquet

the Kings called him for gin and rum

There's a climate rally 

okay let's go 

to that 

I'll make a sign 

But now we're making the sign 

with the markers

You, like sugar, I desire. 

You, like sugar crystals, shine in the light.  

You, like sugar, make me high. 

And you, like sugar, make me crash.  

Purple paper ripped out of my notebook 

you're beautiful in all the ways 

it says in my purple fountain pen 

I taught my sister how to hold the pen 

and she wrote me the note 

I wasn’t sure

how many people would be there

it wasn't the biggest protest in the state,

the one that we went to, that is.
