The King of Nothing
A solemn tap and whisper warms the winter air.
Only his heir had long gone, the night turned dark and cruel.
So to be sure they are alone,
A ghastly sight of his highness rises from his throne. -

I began to shiver
My heart began to quiver, in the dead
Of night I heard a terrible noise.
I pleaded it be in my head, yet I still dread

Though he never died; not a part of his body wavered.
He held in his hands his life.
His daughter and beside her lay his wife.

He thought it would be okay to sit down,
Dipping his feet in the gentle stream.
